When the demons sleep and forget about us,
When the world is standing sideways,
I lay awake and gaze at your eyes.
The weight of sleep on my shoulders,
The day replaying in my head,
The regrets and fears,
All vanish
As I look at your face
And if, by chance,
I get to see your eyes light up,
With or without a smile,
Then I know that all will be well
Because looking at you
And seeing you
And hearing you breathe
Are all I could ever hope for.
And when, in the early morning,
I feel your warmth by my side
And your head on my chest,
I smile and shuffle back to my slumber,
Because all is
Right.
